The Hamilton Developer is a watch that pays homage to the company's dedication to the excellence of the railway system.

Hamilton played a crucial role in history by creating timepieces that were essential for safe and efficient scheduling of trains, allowing the delivery of opportunity.

From the middle 1800s onwards, as the railway system was created, train accidents were frequent, often due to imperfect timing. Hamilton soon realized the importance of governing the hundreds of trains throughout North America. With each train hauling goods or people, the deviation of a minute could literally mean collision and death of passengers.

A brief history of Hamilton;

The company is named after Andrew Hamilton, the land owner on which the factory was built in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

The Hamilton Watch Company has a rich history dating back to 1892, when it was first established. Interestingly, the building that would become Hamilton was previously used by the brand's predecessors--Adams & Perry Watch Co., Lancaster Pennsylvania Watch Co., and Keystone Watch Co.

1892: The Hamilton Watch Company is established.

1893: Hamilton releases its first watch, designed by General Manager Henry Cain, a key figure in the company's success.

Despite only producing 212 watches the following year, Hamilton progressed to become one of the most trusted watchmakers, renowned for its precision and reliability.

1893: In response to the need for precise timekeeping in the railroad industry, Hamilton designed a range of 27 grades of railroad chronometers in 51 unique styles.

1896: Hamilton played a crucial role in universal timing in the aftermath of a devastating railway crash in 1891. The brand partnered with Web Ball, the Railways' Chief Time Inspector. The partnership led to a production of 21,788 railroad quality movements in grades 998 and 999, which were essential for ensuring safe and accurate train travel across the country.

Hamilton revolutionized timekeeping, and their precise movements earned them the title, 'The Watch of Railroad Accuracy'. The brand was the leading manufacturer of railway chronometers for the North American railroad system, making 56% of all railroad certified timepieces in North America.

Finally, there was a timepiece precise to the second, resulting in the timely delivery of millions of tons of goods to American and Canadian people, each having access to the American Dream.

The early expanding American railway:

The American railway system played a vital role in the country's development, from its humble beginnings to its expansion to 9000 miles by 1850, it provided a new form of passenger travel and allowed the opening and development of the country.

Hamilton, a key player in the railway industry, ensured the safe and efficient delivery of imports and exports.

Hamilton's contributions to timing the railways are unparalleled, and their watches have been relied upon for accuracy during both World War I and II. With over one million wristwatches supplied to soldiers during WWII alone, Hamilton has proven time and time again that their commitment to developing strategic causes is unwavering.

From military precision to railway timing, Hamilton's watches have been relied upon for their accuracy. Hamilton was even the official supplier to the U.S. Airmail Service, further solidifying their commitment to developing the American Dream.

Hamilton has a long history of exceptional timepieces, ensuring safe and timely delivery of prosperity.

1969: Hamilton Watch Company ceased producing watches in the United States.

Continuing the developer spririt of Hamilton, the company purchased and developed land near the Lancaster factory. Homes were built for employees at cost in the area known as Hamilton Park.

Nowadays, despite accidents occurring on the railway, timing errors are rarely the cause.

The Hamilton brand is considered the Patek Phillipe of the United States.
