Frequently Asked Questions

DO YOU OFFER A WARRANTY OR GUARANTEE OF ANY TYPE?

Fusion guarantees your watch to be free of defects in workmanship and to function well for a period of 3 months. Your watch will work well for decades with proper care.

Please visit the warranty section in the website for further details.

WHAT SIZE IS THE FINISHED WATCHES?

Many watches today are huge on the wrist and can be imposing. The movements we utilize in our watches are specially chosen for their quality elements as well as appropriate size. Our movements without a case measure between 35-41 mms, the finished timepiece is on trend with current watch sizes. A tastefully produced timepiece for most wrist sizes: impres but not imposing.

WHERE DO YOU LOCATE THE MOVEMENTS IN YOUR WATCHES?

These movements are hard to find in decent condition. Many of our movements are chosen from our vast collections accumulated over the years. We only use high quality, interesting and eye catching movements that were orphaned from the original case. The movements in our watches are expensive and rare. We sometimes source appropriate pocket watch movements online.

DO I NEED TO KNOW ANY SPECIAL CARE REQUIREMENTS WITH A VINTAGE WATCH?

Your watch will arrive fully serviced and ready to wear. When winding your watch for the first time please be aware of these steps.

1: Winding: Gently wind the crown in a clock-wise rotation until the tension in the main-spring increases and

becomes more difficult to wind. Please stop attempting to wind the movement when the watch is fully wound.

2: Setting the time: Gently pull the winding crown out to time setting mode. Turn the crown to set the hands to the desired time.

Push the crown back in to winding mode. Some models use a pin-set design that requires pushing the pin in while turning the crown to current time.

3: Please avoid exposing your watch to moisture. If you anticipate being exposed to water, remove your watch and place it in a safe location. Vintage watches are not designed to be exposed to water. If exposure occurs, the warranty could be void.

If accidental exposure occurs, remove your timepiece and gently pull out the crown to time-setting mode. Carefully remove the case back and use a blow dryer with warm air to help evaporate moisture before damage occurs. Return your timepiece to us for inspection and service if damage has occurred.

4: Strap your timepiece on your wrist. Brace yourself for the conversation and compliments that will come your way.

HOW DO YOUR WATCHES COMPARE TO MODERN HIGH END WATCHES?

Current watches are expensive pieces that can be valued on hype. The watches we produce are not based on hype, only proven quality and good looks. Our prices are reasonable unlike many brands sold in boutiques. Our watch movements are chosen for their high quality elements each were originally designed with. The mechanisms date back to the previous century when watch making was completed to the highest standard for time keeping and aesthetic appeal. Current high-end watches are mass produced collectibles which can be beautiful but, in our opinion lack character and individuality. When considering these factors combined with the historical significance of our movements, then our watches surely do compare with current highly sought after pieces. At a fraction of the price of course. Our focus is to produce watches that appeal to the individual who appreciates history and the mechanical art of fine watchmaking.

IS EACH BRAND'S FULL HISTORY REPRESENTED?

We love history at FTP. We enjoy understanding the past through horology. We extensively research each timepiece brand we upcycle and search for trends within history which defines the brand. We strive for accuracy in summarizing the history of each brand. We have discovered through research that many watch brands have established and progressed due to common themes in their history. Historical watch brands have long and many times, storied histories. Thankfully, for us, finding the theme that defines the watch brand is highly interesting and informative. In most cases, however, we are limited in the amount of information that can be presented-we generally run out of space and sometimes have more information we would like to input. We strive for accuracy in summarizing the history and are confident the titles designated for each watch brand are appropriately chosen.

We are planning to offer additional brands and their respective histories on a consistent basis.

WHAT IF I AM NOT SATISFIED WITH ONE OF YOUR WATCHES?

Have you ever felt disappointment and let down by a product you've ordered online? We have also! We strive

to create products that are quality and will not dissatisfy. We are confident that our customers will have a pleasing

experience with our timepieces and will be fully satisfied. We do however, understand people can have a change of heart on a purchase. We offer a full refund excluding shipping costs, provided the watch is returned in unused condition with all original pieces and papers. Please view the Return Policy in the website for more details.

WHAT BRANDS ARE THE MECHANISMS IN YOUR WATCHES?

The vast majority of are resurrected timepieces were originally American made. We repurpose many well known brands such as: Hamilton, Elgin, Waltham, Howard, Gruen, and Bulova as well as Swiss brands such as, Longines and Omega. Our watches are cased as a wristwatch and branded Fusion Timepieces. The ultimate fusion of old and new. We are not the maker of the movement. We service the original movement, design and manufacture a suitable case as a wristwatch, and ultimately provide timepieces that symbolize history, art and longevity.

Each timepiece has a unique serial number which combines the original manufacturer's serial number with our current identification.  Every original component of the watch is unique and identifiable, and is fused with our current case designs, strap and identification.

We are proud to offer these resurrected classical watches with the Fusion Timepiece brand.
